Book an appointment with a certified physician with Marijuana Evaluations Illinois. This consultation fee is $199 for an examination, subject to change.
Receive your certificate from Marijuana Evaluations Illinois
Once you’ve been approved by a physician, you’ll receive instructions for completing the Illinois state website application. In the meantime, your Marijuana Evaluations Illinois physician will submit your details to the state – we recommend you wait 24-48 hours until starting the state side of the process yourself.
The application fee, payable to the state, is $50 for a 1 year card, $100 for a 2 year card or $125 for a 3 year card. The application fee and the physician’s fee (mentioned above) are separate.
Apply for a card with the State of Illinois
You will receive a “Provisional Letter” after 24-48 hours and the official digital card will be issued in approximately 45 days, after the state has processed your application. Please note that there are no more physical cards in Illinois – everything is now digital
The cost of renewing a medical cannabis certification in Illinois is $199. The state application fees are $50, $100 or $125 for a 1, 2 or 3 year card respectively, and this is separate from the consultation fee.
You have thirty (30) days from the date of your recommendation to apply and submit it to the Missouri DHSS online portal . After the DHSS confirms and approves your recommendation, you'll receive your Missouri Medical Marijuana Card in the mail. At this point, you may access any state-licensed medical marijuana dispensary.
How to qualify
To apply for a Medical Marijuana Card in Illinois you must be a legal resident of Illinois State. Patients must be aged 18 or over in order to qualify for a Medical Marijuana Card in Illinois, or have a caregiver who can access cannabis if the patient is a minor or adult who cannot buy/grow for themselves.
Illinois does not have reciprocity. Therefore, the state does not recognize other states’ medical cannabis cards.
However, other states with reciprocity may recognize an Illinois MMj card as valid.

A chronic medical condition that is normally treated with a prescription medication that could lead to physical or psychological dependence, when a physician determines that medical use of marijuana could be effective in treating that condition and would serve as a safer alternative to the prescription medication
Medical records or other medical documentation such as health summaries, a letter/note from your Primary Care Physician, ER, Urgent Care visit, therapist and/or chiropractors, or copies of your prescription medications will be sufficient.
If you don't have medical records, be prepared to discuss in detail your medical history and why medical marijuana would be beneficial in treating your symptoms/improving your life. The doctor from their professional discretion and medical expertise will make the determination if you qualify

Possession and Growing
Here are the possession limits in Illinois:
- Illinois patients may possess up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis over a 14-day period. Patients may apply for a waiver in order to be allowed to possess more.
- 30 g recreational as of 01/01/2020 for residents of Illinois. Non-residents may possess up to 15 g.
- Possession Limit (Concentrates): 500 mg of THC-infused products or 5 grams of concentrate for all Illinois residents, medical or not.
250 mg of THC-infused product or 2.5 grams of concentrate for non-Illinois residents as of 01/01/2020.
It is legal for a qualifying Illinois medical marijuana patient to grow up to 5 plants in their own household. This limit applies to the whole household, regardless of how many qualifying patients live there.

During your renewal consultation, the physician will review your medical marijuana treatment while providing additional information, advice, updates and answering questions you may have. All requisite follow-ups are included. Renewal recommendations are valid for one year.

If you do not submit within 30 days, your recommendation will no longer be valid. You will need to be recertified by one of our physicians for an additional fee. Application fees must be paid by Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit or debit card. An additional credit card processing fee will be added to the transaction. These application and processing fees are non-refundable. The payment will not be refunded for applications not approved.
